I bought this TV mainly for the PS3 and its blu-ray player. I don't use it to watch TV programmes. The technical specs can be taken from the product description. :)
- great design, but gets dusty easily (just like the PS)
- heavy, you'll need two people to assemble and move it about
- the xross media bar is brilliant, self explanatory and easy to use
- picture quality is great, especially with 1080p movies, brilliance is best when watched from front but viewing from the sides (or above/below) is perfectly acceptable
- don't even try to watch low res stuff on such a big screen, it looks just awful (expected)
- the sound is perfectly alright, but if you want home cinema experience of course you'd have to go for additional speakers

I've had this set for about three months now and all I can say is that I'm seriously pleased with it. Being a bit of a geek I've been through four tv's this year and this is the first that hasn't been sent back or sold on. For HD content this TV gives the best picture for the price range and size, it's sharp, colorful and smooth!
As others have mentioned it is pretty heavy (2 man lift) and gets dusty just as easy as the PS3, although the screen isn't as badly affected as the casing.
Well worth a buy, this tv will be staying in my games room for many years to come I would imagine.
Picture quality for HD = 10/10
Picture quality for SD = 7/10 (more if you're sat far enough away)
Sound quality = 7/10
Picture quality + smoothness for gaming = 10/10 (3ms lag for games from my tests)
Overall = 9/10

I now have a blue ray player and a Sky HD box. It is excellent in HD but the Standard Definition is very average. You will need to sit 12 feet away at least for Standard Definition not to appear grainy. That said, I am very happy with the price and warranty I got buying from Amazon and the TV has been no problem.

the tv is superb, and pictures are wonderfl. The sound is rubbish so hook it up to a Sony surround system

I am sill waiting for this item to be delivered.
I ordered it over a month ago the money has been taken from my account and I am still waiting.
I'm sure the Sony is a wonderfull TV can't wait to experience it!!
