better than you think November 26, 2009 Leho (Tallinn,Estonia) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Rest assured, if this is what you can spend on speakers then these are the best available. I've heard many that are a lot better, but all of them cost at least 3x as much (and some cost 30x as much). Frequency response is not flat so they're not for the audiophiles, but the sound they produce is very pleasant. For the price they are very, very good indeed.
Great HiFi speakers! March 14, 2010 Happy User (South Coast of England) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
It's steel component of my HiFi system. Maybe forever. If not, possibly for many many years. Because it's:
- compact package, takes just a little room, tall but quite heavy and difficult to fall down or move anyway
- no need to have extra subwoofer speaker or any other, excellent equal transmission, very deep bass, wide mids and trebles
- good quality materials, real wood, kevlar etc., magnetically shielded
- very transparent, no sssssssss noise or distortion even on high settings, clearity, good details, quality of the sound is impressive
- very loud, 180 watt is enough for a big party, so powerful could be useful for many ideas
- quite cheap, super value, there's nothing on the market with this quality for this price
I've been trying to play lots of my storage music, CD, mp3 or other from computer also blue-ray films using Sony SS-F6000 speakers. And every time not disappointed. I love high quality sound. Every note shines here!
It doesn't really matters how good is your sound system if your speakers are weak. You can have a very high level of quality sound only if your loudspeakers are very high quality.
Cheap, Anti Social Speakers... October 21, 2009 thejoneseys (Somewhere out there, in the vast nothingness of space) 20 out of 22 found this review helpful
I've had these speakers for a few days now and I originally had mixed thoughts on them. Now that I've run them in a little, placed them in the corners of my room and sorted out my drastic equaliser setup these are actually a pretty decent speaker putting the low cost aside.
They are VERY powerful have no doubts there. I'm using them on a 10 year old Sony FE370 amplifier. My old speakers had trouble reproducing treble so my EQ was set high for the upper frequencies to compensate. The first thing I noticed when I wired these up is the extreme levels of treble they produce. They can be very screechy and you can make your ears uncomfortable if your EQ setup is wrong. Turn your tone controls and/or EQ down before you wire them up or risk a migraine later on!
Once I'd lowered my EQ to a neutral setting, I cranked up the volume I am pretty impressed with them. They are capable of some serious anti-social volumes!!! I haven't got my amp passed half way before I backed off. I daren't go any further. They are LOUD and can take a serious pasting from the looks of it.
These speakers are pretty easy to drive judging by the cool temperature of my amp (it was much warmer with my old wharfedales attached).
The manual quotes 89dB sensitivity and 8 ohms impedance so you can hook these up to pretty much anything.
For clarity these speakers are sold as a pair and arrive in one 30 kilo box (be prepared to give the courier a hand).

Perfect Speakers February 3, 2010 Benjamin Tijani (London) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Wow. They deliver incredible bass feedback and can handle high volumes with ease. They are very sleek in design and a MUST HAVE at this price - you'll find that the quality is the same if not as high as a £400 pair of floor-standing Pioneers. Playing music through these will introduce you to a new and much more precise quality of playback. That's Sony for you. 5 stars out of 5...
